Embodiment Guide

With thousands of hours of teacher-training courses to my name and many years’ experience as a teacher,  I have come to realise that neither I, nor anyone else can ‘teach’ Yoga or somatic movement. Yoga is a way of being. It is the essence of who we are, connected in every way to all that is. Somatic movement is intuitive. It is our natural way of moving, of embodying all that is moving within us.

I am fascinated by the stories we tell ourselves, as individuals and collectively and I am endlessly curious about who we become if we shrug off the overlay of cultural stories; what we could offer to our communities, to the collective, if we take our place as sovereign individuals, each of us owning our own story and the authorship thereof. In so doing, I believe we become, in effect, internal artists, the outward expression of which, holds the potential for the creation of a world we want to live in: Life embodying art, embodying life.

So, I prefer to call myself a ‘guide’, offering clues to trigger your memory of who you are – a trail of crumbs to find your way home. I am, in effect, a re-memberer. I re-member all the parts of myself by tuning in and listening carefully, lovingly, to what is moving in me, without judgement insofar as possible. That is where I find my own healing and that is what I offer with Embodied Soul through embodied movement and words in the form of poetry, song and meditations.
